Myers Park Homes For Sale

Myers Park

Myers Park is one of the premier neighborhoods in North America. There is no better introduction to Charlotte than a drive down Queens Road in Myers Park, where some of the city’s grandest homes are framed by a canopy of willow oaks. Myers Park emerged from a cotton farm in south Charlotte in 1911 when landscape architect John Nolen was hired to create
a “garden suburb.” Myers Park has been designated a National Historic District.

While most of the homes in Myers Park are older traditional homes, a few infill projects offer new options. These projects, primarily town homes and condominiums, come at an above average price tag due to skyrocketing land values.

The Queens University campus is on Selwyn Avenue in the heart of Myers Park. This liberal arts school was founded in 1857 and moved to its Myers park campus in 1914. The shops and restaurants along and just off of Providence Road on Myers Park’s eastern edge are also neighborhood favorites.

Cultural attractions in and around Myers Park include Theatre Charlotte which is Charlotte’s oldest arts organization, The Mint Museum of Art in Eastover, as well as historic landmarks like the Duke Mansion, the former home of Duke University founder James Buchanan Duke, which now serves as a bed and breakfast.

The Myers Park Country Club, Wing Haven Gardens & Bird Sanctuary, specialty retail shops and banking centers are also located in this prestigious area.
